Social media in class is a way of allowing your students to interact with you, There should be a guideline for when we tweet in class and what we tweet about for that there will be understanding. Learners need to be taught how to write an email and how to send it that is also part of technology.
The myth about social media in the classroom is that if you use it, kids will be Tweeting, Face booking and Snap chatting while you're trying to teach. We still have to focus on the task at hand. Don't mistake social media for socializing that is rule number one to my learners they work in groups or talking while hanging out are different.
Surely students will post thousands of status updates, pictures, and blogs in their lifetime.Social media is here. It's just another resource and doesn't have to be a distraction from learning objectives. Social media is another tool that you can use to make your classroom more engaging, relevant and culturally diverse. The importance of it is to have RULES in your class and if they want to learn new things they will abide by your rules.

To me Digital Pedagogy can be
any tool that you intend on using to teach, but it is also about using digital
tools and it is about when to use the tool and how to use it so that it will
create a meaningful learning environment for our students, even for ourselves
as the future educators.
Personally I do believe that
knowledge building and understanding in how technology does affect our daily
lives. Creating new learning spaces is all about bring in new things and figure
out on your own how to use it. For them to use social networks is for voicing
out your opinions not only in a professional environment, but also out there
and opportunity for leaners to have an ability to respond during the lecture
without speaking out loud.
Learning about pedagogy is
such a wonderful and productive experience can be a new way to interact with
your teacher. I believe that knowledge building and
understanding how our personal pedagogy affects our use of technology should
play key roles in the process of integrating various technologies into our
learning environments, and in using those technologies to create learning
spaces. But how an educator approaches the process of dealing with technology
and the digital generation can be a very individual experience.
It is important to reflect on
the use of technology because it is easy to overuse a new or popular tool to
make lectures seem more engaging. Meaningful opportunities to engage and
encourage student learning is demonstrated by how we as teachers, educators,
and researchers can implement technology, in this case Twitter, in a valuable
way.
Using Twitter in this fashion
promotes an interactive space of sharing and collaboration that I find much
more valuable and engaging. I personally did not understand how tweeter works,
but now that I am actually interested in learning I find it useful and you get to
establish strong authentic relationships, rather than those imposed on us by Facebook.
The tweeting for me demands
experimentation, trial and error, and that’s OK. An informed pedagogy that is
both critical and meaningful takes time. We must introduce pedagogical
practices that will help us connect with the world or our students.
